Mesothelioma Research Foundation of America
The Mesothelioma Research Foundation of America is dedicated to funding research aimed at finding a cure for mesothelioma, a cancer caused by asbestos exposure. Since its inception in 2001, the Foundation has funded the opening of the USC/Norris Mesothelioma Laboratory under Dr. Gill's supervision at the USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center in Los Angeles. Dr. Gill, a board-certified oncologist and hematologist, received FDA approval to conduct Phase I Clinical Trials on Veglin, a mesothelioma treatment drug, with 100% funding from the Foundation. The Foundation has supported clinical trials including Phase II trials utilizing EphB-4 with Merck's PD-1, aiming to develop more effective treatments. The Foundation also supports cancer research and clinical trials that include other cancers if mesothelioma is part of the research focus, with the ultimate goal of providing innovative treatment options to help victims.
