East of England Cancer Alliance
The East of England Cancer Alliance aims to bring about improvements in patient experience and cancer care outcomes across the East of England region. We cover a large geographical area with a combined population of over six million people, including the areas of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, Norfolk and Waveney, Suffolk and North East Essex, Bedford, Luton and Milton Keynes, Hertfordshire and West Essex, and Mid and South Essex. The Alliance works in partnership with six integrated care boards in the region, hospitals trusts, staff in primary and secondary care, charities, and senior leaders in the health sector. We also work closely with patients and members of the local community. Our aim is to reduce variation in cancer care across the region and improve access to high quality, evidence-based interventions across the whole care pathway. Patient experience and patient voice is at the core of our work - the patient's perspective informs what we do and how we go about transforming cancer services in the East of England. Together we work towards ensuring fewer people get preventable cancers, more people survive longer after a diagnosis, patients have a positive experience of care, and people experience a better quality of life.
